Meet The Team

Meet the Team of SNYPR
As the old saying goes "it takes a village", and it truly does! Each of our team members play a vital role in our success & our capabilities. Although each of us may not physically be present at the rescue daily; we couldn't continue to help the animals we do without their help & dedication!

President

Vice President

Amy founded Southern NY Pig Rescue in 2017 with her husband, Mike Holtfoth.  After adopting 2 of their own pig's they realized the massive population issue and decided to take action by establishing a rescue that would not only place unwanted pigs, but that could also focus on educating the general public about pet pig ownership. In just one year the rescue has placed over 100 pigs in forever homes .
Mike cofounded the rescue with his wife Amy and is ultimately the farm manager. While he does enjoy the hands on time with the animals he is often the one repairing fences, building shelters & making sure every habitat is safe & secure for the residents of SNYPR. As a nurse by profession Mike is also often on the frontline assisting our team of veterinarians and caring for sick or injured animals.
Shawnee has been an avid supporter of SNYPR since it's induction. She is the owner of Savannah Relics Jewelry and is known for her wildly passionate obsession with all things creative. Shawnee has designed and donated many pieces of jewelry to help raise funds for the animals in our care. She resides in Flat Rock, IL and is the proud owner of a potbelly pig named Sophie. Shawnee is also passionate about educating the general public on the micro pig myth & the ugly reality of breeding in the pig world.

Lennie Masse
Lennie relocated from California to New York last year and attended one of SNYPR's very first fundraisers. After the event she adopted Dixie & Dexter, a bonded pair of potbelly pigs from the rescue. She then continued to volunteer at all of our events, even while managing her own farm! Lennie is now Mom to 5 pigs who were former residents of SNYPR; Olive, Winston, Buster, Dixie & Dexter. They also own 5 goats, chickens, ducks & geese at the Masse Farm!
